Bishop's Throne
Here we see a bishop's throne, a work of remarkable elegance, with scrolls that intertwine harmoniously to form the legs and arms.
The back is decorated with acanthus leaves and floral motifs, and is crowned by a cherub's head surmounted by two smaller scrolls with similar ornament. The throne recalls the style of the bishop's throne in the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria del Piano in Montella, and may have been made by the same craftsmen who created the throne for Nusco Cathedral in 1744.
